Gustave Roussy's medical-scientific programmes
Gustave Roussy’s Medical and Scientific Programs
At the heart of interdisciplinary cancer care, from before to after cancer, for every patient
As part of its “Gustave Roussy 2030” strategic plan, the Institute has identified flagship programs aimed at tangibly transforming care for people with cancer through research. These programs draw on both the clinical research and the translational and basic research conducted by Gustave Roussy’s teams.
These medical-scientific programs are based on exploratory research that has generated well-substantiated hypotheses and rely on large-scale cohorts, sample profiling using high-throughput platforms, and the mathematical analysis of the massive amounts of data generated by this profiling.
Institutional Programs
Identify situations of increased risk for certain cancers and implement a personalized prevention program in collaboration with primary care physicians.
To create a care structure dedicated to managing sequelae and diagnosing the risk of complications through individualized medical follow-up.
Accelerate the development of immunotherapy and make it available to as many patients as possible.
Identify and understand the mechanisms of resistance to cancer treatments and offer new treatment options to patients.
To better understand the role of genetics in pediatric cancers
To improve CAR-T cell therapies to make them more effective, longer-lasting, and better suited for treatment-resistant cancers.
Gaining a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the onset, progression, and treatment resistance of pancreatic cancer.
National Programs
The Value of Liquid Biopsy in Lung Cancer
Organoids to predict treatment response in gastrointestinal cancers
Studies the role of the gut microbiota in response to immunotherapies
An innovative immunoradiotherapy to spare the immune system
Characterizing the biological characteristics of patients and their tumors to develop new immunotherapies
Working together to develop innovative new treatments to fight pediatric cancers.
An integrated translational oncology research program focused on epigenetics
Its goal is to create the first integrated ecosystem focused on immunology, bringing together experts from various disciplines: cancer, autoimmune diseases, and immunotherapy.
The MONO-CHEM research project aims to develop a new generation of cell therapy.
Gustave Roussy participates in three national cohorts: CANTO, E3N Générations, and COBLAnCE. These are key tools that help advance research.
European Programs
A European study on first-line treatment for metastatic kidney cancer.
A European program to better predict response to and resistance against antibody-drug conjugates.
Better assessing lung cancer risk to personalize prevention
The European Union supports scientific excellence through several funding mechanisms, including grants from the European Research Council (ERC) and the Horizon Europe framework program.
