Second Medical Opinion

The request can be made by you, a family member, or your doctor. The consultation is fully covered, with no upfront costs, for any patient with a French social security number.

A second opinion is available for the following specialties:

• Pediatric and Adolescent Oncology
• Thoracic
• Genitourinary (excluding testicular tumors)

• Breast Imaging
• Radiology and Interventional Radiology
• Cancer-related pain

Would you prefer to send your documents by mail? Select this option directly on the platform when adding your attachments. The mailing address will be provided to you. Any documents sent directly to Gustave Roussy will not be accepted.

2. You’ll receive a response within 7 days on average.
3. If the recommended treatment cannot be provided by your current care team (clinical trial, new drug, brachytherapy, etc.), you will be offered an in-person consultation at Gustave Roussy.

Gustave Roussy’s second opinion service is provided in partnership with Deuxième Avis, a company external to Gustave Roussy.

• Medical opinions are provided by experts at Gustave Roussy.
• The Deuxième Avis team is solely responsible for managing your case (questions, progress updates), via phone or email. 

Once you have submitted your request for a second opinion, if you have any questions, please contact the Second Opinion Patient Services department directly at 01 81 80 00 48 or at contact@deuxiemeavis.fr. They will be able to provide you with information on the status of your request. Doctors and administrative staff at Gustave Roussy will not be able to provide you with any information, and no responses will be given outside of the platform.

If you wish to send any of your documents by mail, please complete your request by selecting this option on the platform when adding attachments. The mailing address will be provided to you on the platform. No documents sent directly to Gustave Roussy will be considered as part of your request.
