Preparing for My Appointment
Have you received a notice to come in for a consultation, an exam, or treatment at Gustave Roussy? Being well-prepared will help ensure your care goes smoothly and that your appointment runs on schedule.
Find useful information to help you prepare for your visit, manage your appointments, and gather the necessary documents.
My first visit to Gustave Roussy
Is this your first visit to Gustave Roussy? Here are the main steps to follow upon your arrival.
- identification document;
- Vitale card;
- supplemental health insurance;
- recent test results and reports;
- current prescriptions.
I check the directions, available transportation options, and parking information before I go.
Upon arrival, I will check in at the main reception desk with my admission notice to complete, if necessary, the administrative procedures related to my admission.
The reception and care teams are there to direct me to the location of my appointment, exam, or treatment.
At the end of my appointment, the next steps in my care are explained to me, and follow-up appointments can be scheduled if necessary.
Before each of your appointments
To ensure that the medical staff has all the information needed to provide you with care, please be sure to bring:
- your administrative documents: ID, Vitale card or valid certificate, supplemental insurance card, “patient section” of your treatment plan, proof of address, etc.
- your recent medical records: prescriptions or a list of your medications, medical imaging, blood test results, etc.; your recent test results (imaging, laboratory tests, medical reports);
- any letters from your primary care physician;
- any questions you may have for the medical team.
Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time to complete any necessary paperwork.
On the day of your visit
Unless otherwise specified, please present your appointment notice at the main reception desk, which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The receptionist will give you your schedule with details of your appointments for the day and direct you to the appropriate department.
Please report any changes to your personal information or contact details as soon as you arrive.
- If you have any documents that need to be stamped (transportation orders, prescriptions, etc.), please stop by the reception desk in the consultation area.
- Your next appointment will be given to you by the medical assistant or sent by mail.
- Please go to the administrative services desk (“Caisse”) to pay the copayment and/or register your supplemental health insurance (mutuelle). Outside of these hours, if you have a remaining balance to pay, an invoice will be sent to you.
You can receive appointment reminders via text message. To do so, please provide your cell phone number to the office of your referring physician at Gustave Roussy.
Some medications are dispensed directly by the Gustave Roussy pharmacy, located on the outpatient care floor. If your prescription calls for it, an appointment will be scheduled at the pharmacy to pick up your medication. If you are participating in a clinical trial, this appointment will be scheduled by your medical assistant or clinical research associate (CRA) at the end of your consultation.
