What Gustave Roussy Is Doing for You

Gustave Roussy organizes multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) specifically dedicated to patients from overseas territories, in partnership with local healthcare facilities. These RCPs bring together medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons from Gustave Roussy via videoconference to collectively review complex cases referred by partner physicians.

What this means for you in practical terms:

  • Your case is reviewed by world-class experts right from your home territory.
  • In 80% of cases, patients can be treated near their home following discussion in the multidisciplinary team meeting.
  • If a visit to mainland France is necessary, you will be welcomed by a team already familiar with your situation.
  • You have access to innovative therapies and, depending on your region, to liquid biopsy or comprehensive genomic analysis of your tumor (SeqOIA).

More than 2,000 cases have been reviewed since 2019, 51% of which came from New Caledonia and 49% from French Polynesia. Medical evacuations (EVASAN) for oncology have been reduced by half since the launch of the multidisciplinary tumor boards.

Your Role as a Patient

These RCPs are reserved for healthcare professionals. As a patient, your doctor will submit your case. Talk to your oncologist or local referring physician; they will contact Gustave Roussy.

If you would like to schedule an appointment directly at Gustave Roussy, please visit our “Schedule an Appointment” section.
