Department of Medical Oncology

The Department of Medical Oncology at Gustave Roussy is one of the largest in the country, with a team of more than 430 people. It has a very broad scope of practice, covering all cancer specialties, as well as rare cancers.

The department thus cares for patients with solid or hematologic tumors at all stages of the disease—including treatment, post-treatment follow-up, and palliative care—across all organ systems. To this end, it works closely with Gustave Roussy’s organ pathology committees, several of which are headed by a member of the department:

• Thoracic Pathology
• Neuro-Oncology
• Sarcomas / Complex Tumors
• Urology

In addition to these clinical services, the department also carries out more cross-disciplinary activities:
