Make a donation to the fight against pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is the second most common digestive cancer after colorectal cancer, causing 400,000 deaths worldwide each year. The vast majority of pancreatic cancers are diagnosed too late, making them inoperable in 90% of cases. Currently, there are very few treatment options available for these patients. However, when detected at an early stage, pancreatic cancer can be cured in 80% of cases.

The “Prism Pancréas” Project: Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer

The poor prognosis for pancreatic cancer is mainly due to late diagnosis. That is why researchers at Gustave Roussy have developed PRISM, a large-scale project aimed at detecting pancreatic cancer early and thereby increasing patients’ chances of recovery.

Objectives of the PRISM Program Against Pancreatic Cancer

  • To develop an early detection technology based on the identification of molecules in plasma or urine.
  • To save approximately 100,000 lives per year through the early detection program.
