Prof. Caroline Robert, Head of the Dermatology
Department; Dr. Émilie Routier, Chair of the Dermatological Pathology Committee

Integrated expertise dedicated to serving every patient

At Gustave Roussy, the Skin Cancer Committee provides specialized care for melanomas, skin carcinomas, and certain rare skin tumors, as well as skin toxicity related to cancer treatments.

It brings together a multidisciplinary team of dermatologists, oncologists, surgeons, imaging and nuclear medicine specialists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, pathologists, and cytopathologists.

Collaboration among these different areas of expertise allows for the development of a personalized strategy for each patient—from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up—while promoting access to innovation and clinical research.

Therapeutic Innovation at the Heart of Care

Research on skin cancers aims to better understand why some tumors respond to treatment while others are resistant, to identify biomarkers that can guide treatment decisions, and to develop new strategies.

The research team led by Prof. Caroline Robert

Professor Caroline Robert leads a team focused on the mechanisms of adaptive resistance to cancer treatments. Her research focuses in particular on resistance to targeted therapies and immunotherapy in melanoma, as well as on the identification of biomarkers and new therapeutic strategies.

This close integration of clinical research, translational research, and patient care allows questions raised at the bedside to be brought into the laboratory and then evaluated through clinical trials.
