International Center for Thoracic Cancers

The International Center for Thoracic Cancers (CICT) brings together the complementary expertise of Gustave Roussy, Marie-Lannelongue Hospital, and Paris Saint-Joseph Hospital. This healthcare cooperation group offers coordinated care for lung, pleural, and mediastinal cancers, as well as other thoracic tumors, regardless of their stage or complexity.

Three facilities, coordinated expertise

Gustave Roussy contributes its expertise in medical oncology, radiation therapy, and therapeutic innovation. The Marie-Lannelongue Hospital contributes, in particular, through its expertise in thoracic and vascular surgery. Paris Saint-Joseph Hospital provides care in pulmonology and thoracic oncology.

An alliance dedicated to thoracic cancers

Established as an offshoot of the Institute of Thoracic Oncology, the CICT brings together pulmonologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, pathologists, clinical laboratory scientists, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, and palliative care professionals under one umbrella.

Cases are reviewed during multidisciplinary team meetings to determine a treatment strategy tailored to the disease, its extent, and each patient’s individual situation.

Which types of cancer are covered?

  • Bronchopulmonary cancers, whether small-cell or non-small-cell.
  • Tumors of the pleura, including mesotheliomas.
  • Mediastinal tumors, including thymomas.
  • Other thoracic tumors, particularly those of the trachea, the chest wall, or the great vessels, depending on their nature and complexity.

A Coordinated Care Pathway, from Diagnosis to Treatment

The CICT provides comprehensive care, from diagnostic tests through treatment and follow-up. Depending on their situation, patients may receive surgery, radiation therapy, interventional radiology, and drug treatments such as chemotherapy, targeted therapies, or immunotherapy.

  • Rapid Diagnosis

The InstaDiag pathway is designed to quickly arrange the necessary tests when a thoracic tumor is suspected.

  • Coordinated Treatments

We combine our various areas of expertise to develop a personalized treatment plan and organize the sequence of treatments.

Provide care, conduct research, and share knowledge

The CICT’s activities are organized around three complementary areas: patient care, research, and education. This structure aims to bring clinical and scientific expertise together and promote access to innovation.

A multidisciplinary team

Create a dynamic module showcasing CICT specialists, with filters by institution and discipline. This format will make it easier to update the content without lengthening the editorial page.
